Laura is an Associate Licensed Counselor, with experience working with those suffering from eating disorders, sexual trauma, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. She has a deep passion for helping women struggling with eating disorders, trauma, and mental illness regain their identity and sense of hope. Laura believes that each person she comes into therapeutic relationship with is a unique individual with unique needs. Therefore, she strives to operate from an integrative therapeutic approach tailored to individual needs. Some of her utilized modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and elements of Internal Family Systems. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Montevallo and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is currently a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
