Wil Drake is a Georgia native who relocated to Birmingham, Alabama to attend Samford University for a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Towards the later part of his time in college, he joined a touring band and had the opportunity to travel, playing all over the country. While on the road, Wil would hunt out every possible eatery worth trying. It was during this time that he discovered his true affinity for cooking and passion for all things food related.
Since graduating with a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Wil has explored many areas of the culinary world. He got his start in sweets while working at Dreamcakes Bakery and as the pastry chef at Do Di Yos, as well as the savory world, working at Top Chef Richard Blais’ Flip Burger Boutique and spending time at SAW’s BBQ.
Wil joined the team at Magnolia Creek in October of 2010. Working as the chef for Magnolia Creek allows him to share his passion and love for food with others.
