Sarah Moorad, MEd, ALC, NCC
Associate Therapist

Sarah is a nationally certified counselor, with a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo, a CACREP accredited program and a Bachelor's from Samford University where she majored in Family Studies. She has received training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy for eating disorders under Magnolia Creek's clinical director in individual and group therapy. She also worked with the clients as a Staff Counselor for two years.
Sarah believes in the importance of advocating and is a member of the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Professional Honor Society, and the Alabama Counseling Association. She also trained at Oasis Counseling Center for Women and Children where she provided individual counseling for various women's issues, including eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Sarah presents on topics such as eating disorders, self-harm, and body image. She is passionate about using mindfulness in recovery and regularly leads the residents and clients through mindful eating exercises.
Sarah leads the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups and believes that a full recovery is possible by learning emotion regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance skills.
