Associate therapist, Sarah Moorad, and clinical director, Dr. Mary Bartlett, have written an article for the Alabama Counseling Association's (ALCA) spring quarter newsletter. In it, they discuss the co-morbidity of eating disorders with self-harming behaviors and recent evidence suggesting that Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) may be an effective treatment avenue.

Executive director, Dr. Nicole Siegfried, has contributed an article discussing the mortality of anorexia and the high rate of suicide among sufferers. The article introduces Thomas Joiner's Interpersonal-Psychological Theory of Suicide (IPTS) and uses it as a framework for conceptualizing the high suicide rate for anorexia.

The Alabama Counseling Association's (ALCA) winter quarter newsletter features an article written by clinical director, Dr. Mary Bartlett. Titled, "Department of Defense Initiatives Grow to Support Military Families," the article focuses on DoD's efforts to conduct mental health research and provide programs to support military families, as well as civilian communities affiliated with the military population.

In addition, ALCA has recognized Dr. Bartlett as a recipient of their award for "Chapter/Division Outstanding Member" for her outstanding contribution to the counseling profession. Dr. Bartlet is also listed in the newsletter as a mentor for several graduate students who presented at the ALCA Annual Conference.
